Stop by McGuire Hall this Thursday, December 8th, from 8pm-10pm for WLOY’s last event of the semester! With performances by Saleem & The Music Lovers with special guest Wendel Patrick, the show will definitely be great.
Hip-hop artist Saleem, performing with his full Music Lovers band, regularly draws a crowd at our Honfest stage. As both a spoken word poet and hip-hop performer Saleem never fails to engage an audiences ears and minds! This is a chance to hear new music from Saleem’s forthcoming album. Wendel Patrick has been called “wildly talented” by the Baltimore Sun. Playing every note on his albums, Patrick has electronically produced amazing and unique sounds. However, electronic production isn’t his only talent: he’s also “equally at home” performing with band, improvising, beat boxing, or playing classical music. With these two local artists, the last McGuire show of the semester will be one you won’t want to miss. So take a break from studying and swing by the show!

November 22nd, 2016 by The ProfessorThe dynamic duo, twins Nalani & Sarina, swung through town in November. Since they were playing 2 days in a row in Baltimore, including our show 11/10/16, we managed to snag an hour of their time on the 11th for a Studio Seizure session. With a pop style well-rooted in classic R&B and Soul music, these two always put on a great show.
For their Seizure we let them be the DJs and, not surprisingly, a lot of killer songs came up in their mix. Whether you’re talking vintage Stax Records or modern folks like Allen Stone, Nalani & Sarina know their music. And how about that time they covered a Bruce Springsteen song with The Boss in the audience?! Listen in to hear great stories and songs on this week’s Studio Seizure.
